Coutada Route – Special Protection Area for Birds
Small circular route, accessible to people with reduced mobility and also ideal for walking or cycling. The itinerary crosses one of the most interesting ornithological sites in the region. Within the scope of the Natura 2000 Network, this area was declared a Special Protection Zone for Birds (ZEPA)
The route has interpretive signage and complementary services, such as a car park; and can be reached by car to the starting point.
The route passes through the “ZEPA” of A Limia (which includes the LIC Veiga de Ponteliñares), crossing a section of the river Limia and the main channel of Lagoa de Antela. With an agricultural landscape and an almost flat relief.
It is an exceptional place for bird watching, especially migratory birds, registering more than two hundred different species.
