The XURÉS BIKE TOUR – FRONTEIRA ESQUECIDA RÍO LIMIA-LIMA mountain bike race is a competitive cross-border event that will take place on 18, 19 and 20 June in the Gerês – Xurés Cross-border Biosphere Reserve, specifically between the municipalities of Muíños, Lobios on the Ourense side and Montalegre on the Portuguese side.
This race is one more activity of the folder even in the project FRONTEIRA ESQUECIDA, which is co-financed to 75% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the program INTERREG V A ESPAÑA PORTUGAL (POCTEP) 2014-2020.
It will be possible to compete individually or in pairs, in full round mode (covering the three days) or in individual format for each of the days. Also, and in a new way, there is a modality for E-bikes (although not competitive).
The three days are divided into: a Prologue stage of 12 kms in the surroundings of the O CORGO complex in Muíños. The first stage will have an extension of 60 kms, leaving and arriving at Muíños and crossing the border into Portuguese lands. The last stage will take place in the municipality of Lobios, 42 kms, with the epicentre being the Lobios – Caldaria spa.
Trophies will be awarded according to the different categories: in full lap format, both for men and women and in pairs, as well as for the best classified in each of the individual stages in the same categories. There will also be a medal certifying the category of “finisher” after completing the three-day course.
There will be technical support for the participants, liquid and solid supplies provided by the organisation and other infrastructures that will make the first edition of this event an unforgettable experience, and that will make it a classic in the Galician MTB calendar.
Registrations (limited to 300) close the day after the official presentation of the event, which will take place on 14 June at 12 noon, an event that can be followed online on this page.
